Where, traditionally, we use American, French, and Spanish oak to create a timeless sherry-led whisky, with The One Sherry Cask Finished whisky, it is the characters of Spanish wood which bring a new dimension to the flavour profile.

Softer and more porous, Spanish oak encourages a higher degree of interaction between spirit and cask. The more open grain allows the whisky to travel deeper into the wood, drawing out rich and intense flavours, as well as creating a beautiful and natural colour.

Sherry and whisky enjoy a harmonious relationship, one which, over the years, has helped to create some of the world’s finest whiskies.

Made principally from Palomino grapes grown near Jerez de la Frontera in Andalucia, Sherry is produced in a variety of styles, from the dark and rich Oloroso to the sweeter styles of PX and Cream, and the drier Fino.

The One Sherry Cask Finished demonstrates the flavours that can be derived from the finest PX and Oloroso seasoned casks. The same casks that mature The Lakes Single Malt.

Like all expressions in The One collection, this is a singular release with only 4,512 bottles available in the UK.

Heavily influenced by our dark and sweet PX sherry casks, this is a decadent whisky, with a deep, rich and more intense flavour, perfect after dinner or to relax and unwind.

An enticing aroma of Medjool dates, sun-dried raisins, sultanas and polished wood leads to Macadamia nuts, dark chocolate and gentle smoke on the palate, with a long, warming and rich finish.

Rather than opting for traditional orange drinking wine casks, where white wine grapes are fermented in contact with their skin and seeds, this release of The One has been finished in exceptionally rare ‘Vino de Naranja’ seasoned casks, made only in Huelva, Andalucía.

Aged almost exclusively for personal consumption, Seville orange peel is macerated into a grape-based spirit and matured in American oak casks, to give a delicious, light and elegant aromatised Naranja Wine.

By finishing our blend of The Lakes Single Malt and select Scotch grain and malt whiskies from the Highlands, Speyside and Islay in Orange Wine casks, the original spirit takes a back seat as new flavours come through.

The casks create a distinctive buttery and creamy texture, as the oak allows occasional spicy notes to peek through a nose of fresh lychee, marmalade and hints of tobacco.

With flavours of gentle peat, tropical fruits and candied orange peel, this is a clean and smooth whisky with delicate nuances that allow you to enjoy it neat, with soda water and a twist of orange, or as you please.

Limited to only 2,994 bottles in the UK, and bottled at the natural colour, The One Orange Wine Cask Finished is 46.6% ABV and has been non-chill filtered for a richer mouthfeel and fuller flavour.

Port, like sherry, is a wine made with the addition of distilled grape spirit to increase the alcohol content and strengthen (or ‘fortify’) the wine. 

Rich and intense, it exists in a variety of sweetness and colours, boasting an aroma and character that separate it from other wines.

Like all expressions of The One, each singular release is unique. 

Unlike earlier bottlings of The One Port, which were exclusively in Tawny Port casks, this particular expression has increased complexity through two different port influences coming together, finished in both Tawny & Ruby Port casks from Portugal.

Fresh cherries, candied ginger and toasted oak on the nose lead to a palate of plum, rose petals and chocolate with a rich, lingering and spicy finish.
